Welcome to
Suzanne Cory High School

Martha Goodridge-Kelly
As the only selective high school in the western suburbs, and one of only four selective high schools in Victoria, we provide outstanding education for highly able students in Years 9-12. A co-educational, government school, our programs and buildings are specially designed to provide a challenging curriculum, high trust environment and strong focus on proactive wellbeing.
At SCHS we prioritise the needs of highly able learners and create a community of like minds, where students feel they belong. When students join our school they become part of an exceptional community, where they are encouraged to thrive as an individual and as a collective. With a rich and diverse co-curricular program, opportunities for student leadership and a focus on student wellbeing, we aim for a holistic education in which the social and emotional development of the young person is as important as their academic development.
With the classroom our highly trained staff deliver a compacted curriculum with opportunities for extension across all subject areas. Students in Years 9 and 10 experience a broad based curriculum that prepares them to delve into a wide range of specialisms at VCE, or to maintain breadth in the IB in the senior years. Our academic results clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of this program, as we earn the moniker “Best in the West”.
Our schools core values of Respect, Aspiration and Contribution shape the rhythms of the school and our expectations of students. All students are expected to act respectfully in the school and wider community, aspire to do their best at all times, and contribute to the vibrant school life.

Our Values
At Suzanne Cory High School, our core values of Respect, Aspiration, and Contribution are woven into the fabric of our community. These values are more than just words — they guide our students in their actions, decisions, and interactions every day.
Our students embody these principles both inside and outside the classroom, shaping them into thoughtful, driven, and compassionate young adults. By upholding these values, they are well-prepared to make meaningful contributions to society and to achieve personal and academic success.
These values are what make Suzanne Cory High School not just a place of learning, but a place of growth, integrity, and purpose.
This is what our school values mean to our students.

Respect
“Holding my teachers and peers in high regard, and being grateful to be in their presence. Acknowledging and understanding that being in this school is a blessing, and acting in accordance to that.”
Tousif B
“Getting along with your peers and respecting their thoughts and ideas in class, as well as outside of class. Being a Suzanne Cory student, respect looks like being a responsible and ethical person not only in the school uniform but at any given moment in time.”
Hansika R

Aspiration
“Aspiration is the desire to go above and beyond to better one’s self.”
Muhammad B
“It means having the will or urge to succeed and go higher, and it’s not about making it to perfection, but to do your very best.”
Atharva W

Contribution
“Contribution to me is making a noticeable and lasting impact, no matter how small it may be. Just the smallest actions can change someone’s day and can spark friendships that last lifetimes.”
Parth B
“Contribution is the effort a person puts in so that themselves and their community can benefit from their actions.”
