The School Council at Suzanne High School is responsible for setting and monitoring the direction of the school through management of policy, finance, curriculum and student programs to provide the best possible educational outcomes for students.
The school council operates under a legislative framework within the Victorian government school system. All school councils operate under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006. Each school council is established by an Order of the Minister for Education. The School Council at Suzanne Cory High School is made up of parent, DEECD and community representatives. All members on school council bring valuable experience from the school community to school council meetings.
Participating as a school council member is a rewarding and challenging experience. Nominations for School Council membership are called for in Term 1 each year for the parent and DEECD representative categories.
School Council Meetings
The School Council meets every month throughout the school year at 5.30pm in the school Conference room. School Council meetings are open and the school welcomes visitors to attend meetings. Meeting dates are published on the school calendar.
