Bring-Your-Own-Device 1:1 Laptop/Tablet Program
Bring-Your-Own-Device 1:1 Laptop/Tablet Program for Suzanne Cory HS Years 9 to 11 in 2016
At Suzanne Cory High School we are committed to enhancing student learning outcomes by ensuring students have access to the latest technologies. To achieve this we provide an integrated wireless network system throughout the school and combine this with an excellent range of software programs.
In 2015 all students in Years 9 to 11 will participate in the Bring Your Own Device program and this entails bringing a suitable personal laptop or tablet to school each day. Students continuing at the school should already be in possession of a suitable device and will already be using it on the school network—as long as those devices meet the minimum required specifications outlined in the Handbook attached below, in order to continue to connect to the school network. For new families, a device that you already own that meets the minimum specifications can be used. The BYOD handbook below is attached below and was presented to parents and students at our Year 9 Parent Information Evening in Term 4, 2015.
To use these devices at school, students and parents must sign and abide by the school’s Acceptable ICT Use Agreement. This agreement covers acceptable and appropriate behaviours when using any form of digital technology while at school or on school-based activities. The agreement is included as an appendix in the BYOD Program Handbook, which you can download below.
If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact Mr Glen Stewart, Leading Teacher of eLearning at the school on 8734 2800.
