Assessment & Reporting
At Suzanne Cory High School, we believe students and parents should be supported to plan for the completion of assessment tasks both in a timely manner and to the very best of each student’s ability. For this reason, the school provides families with a semester long Assessment Schedule for each year level. The schedule includes all the major assessment tasks for each subject and due dates that are required for students of that year level. Assessment schedules are electronically mailed to all families early in terms 1 and 3 of each year.
End of Semester Reports
Students and parents are made aware of academic progress on a regular basis. This is information about what students know and can do, together with recommendations for their future learning. This is achieved through formative assessment (such as practice and homework tasks) and summative assessment (end of topic tests, assignments etc.) throughout each unit of every subject.
At the end of each semester parents receive written reports in the post. These reports provide grade data and written comments for each assessment task completed in that subject. Specifically, written reports outline the grades achieved for each summative task, study habits demonstrated and progression points attained on the AusVELS achievement standards during the reporting period.
At the end of Term 1 and Term 3, all parents will receive an Interim Report for their child.
